Chicken Chukka

Chicken Chukka

Chicken - 1 kg
Onion - 2 nos(chopped)
Ginger - garlic - 1 tbsp(crushed)
Green chillies - 4 nos
Tomatoes - 2 nos(sliced)
Garam masala - 2 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
Chilly powder - 3 tsp
Coriander powder - 3 tsp
Cumin powder(Jeerakam) - 2 tsp
Pepper corns - 2 tsp(crushed)
Salt - As reqd
Curry leaves - Few
Oil - As required
Coriander leaves - For garnishing


1)For preparing spicy chicken chukka, first marinate chicken with pepper and salt.

2)Marinate it for 1 hour.

3)In a pan, pour oil .

4)When hot, add chicken pieces and fry it.

5)When chicken turns color, add onion, ginger-garlic paste and fry it.

6)Add green chillies and fry it.

7)Add garam masala, coriander powder, chilly powder and turmeric.

8)Add salt and cover it with a lid.

9)Fry it for sometime.

10)Sprinkle water and cook it well.

11)When done, and water is fully evaporated, add cumin powder, curry leaves.

12)Make it a dry masala.

13)Chicken chukka is ready, garnish with coriander leaves in case you want to see it more decorative and flavored. Good to have with Porotta, Naan or Chappathi.
